Postpartum Doula Care

What Is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to mothers and families during the postpartum period.

This care helps ease the transition into parenthood, promotes recovery, and supports the overall well-being of both mother and baby.

Core Services

Emotional Support
Offering a compassionate presence, active listening, and reassurance to help new mothers navigate the emotional changes that follow childbirth.

Infant Care Guidance
Providing hands-on education in newborn care — including diapering, bathing, feeding, and soothing techniques — to help parents gain confidence in caring for their baby.

Breastfeeding Support
Assisting with positioning, latch, and education to encourage a positive and successful breastfeeding experience.

Household Assistance
Helping with light household tasks such as meal preparation and simple errands, allowing mothers more time to rest and bond with their newborn.

Resource Referrals
Connecting families with trusted local resources, support groups, and healthcare professionals as needed.

By offering personalized, heart-centered care, postpartum doulas play an essential role in fostering a positive postpartum experience, helping families adjust to new routines and ensuring mothers feel supported during this transformative time.

The First Forty Days

I’m a strong advocate for the traditional practice of “The First Forty Days,” observed in many cultures including the Latin American cuarentena.
This sacred 40-day period focuses on rest, recovery, nourishment, and bonding with your newborn.

By embracing this time of stillness and care, supported by family, community, and healing therapies mothers experience deeper physical recovery, emotional stability, and overall well-being.
